Borough & Elections
Reigate & Banstead Borough
Reigate CLP contests elections locally in the borough of Reigate and Banstead. This polity consists of 15 wards, each of which elects 3 councillors to represent them- one a year for three years before the schedule is interrupted by the Surrey County Council elections. These wards can be seen below.
Reigate Constituency
At General Election time, Reigate CLP contests the Reigate constituency. The boundaries are slightly different to borough, excluding most of the Horley wards which instead join the East Surrey constituency.
However, the Boundary Commission for England has proposed changes to the Reigate constituency that may result in significant changes for the future. The review is not due for completion until July 2023; however, the latest update released on the 8th November, would result in the loss of the Hooley, Merstham and Netherne ward to a revised East Surrey constituency. South Park and Woodhatch was set to move from Reigate in the initial proposal, though following opposition, it is now set to stay. Nork will be joining the Reigate constituency from the north.
